Easy Like Sundays’ Mornings

3 08 2008

What can I say people?  I tell you there is nothing like a Sunday’s morning.  I just can’t describe it for some reason.  I do not attend church on Sunday because I am currently working on the weekends.  I praise and thank the Lord without the week and attend Bible Study most or some of the times since I can’t make church on Sundays.  I always listen to gospel music on my way to work on Sundays and it just provides a comfort feeling to my soul.  I listen to all types and kinds of music and course I enjoy hip hop even though I have my issues with it.  For me all hip hip is not bad.  There is just something about gospel music that speaks to the heart if you are willing to listen.  That is straight up and some songs touches you more than others because the words and singers are singing with conviction.

Anyway, I am going to do something different today.  You know, sometimes I think about certain situtations or feelings and say don’t do that or don’t say that.  Some people might think this or that.  Most of the times, not all but most of the times I go with my heart and let it lead me either if I am right or wrong.  Expression from men is seen as a weakness and a insecurity and I am guilty of that train of thought at times too.  While I was listening to my music which happens to be gospel music today I was thinking about people and their circumstances or situations.  I always had a heart for wanting to help or assist people if I could in whatever capacity it may be.

Today I will play a DJ and will spin a record for y’all.  My DJ name will be WH1(Will Hunting #1) and I will play this song for everybody who flashed through my mind while listening to Yolanda Adams song “Be Blessed”.  This is for y’all and I wish I could do more but take this as a little sentimental gift from my heart.  This is for my mother, sisters, brothers, P. Love, Leroy, Brain, Ms. Gilbert, Tiffany, KB (N. Carolina) .  Go ahead and speak to them Yolanda…

Be Blessed

[Verse 1:]
Too many storms have passed your way
And you’re all washed out cause it rained on your parade
Seems nobody cares about you anyway
Now you’re living your life like a castaway
Searched for strength inside was it all in vain
Cause the deeper you dig you find more and more pain
Don’t let your tomorrow be like yesterday
Cause I spoke to God, I called out your name
And on your behalf, I just asked if He would be there for you
I want you to[Chorus:]
Be Blessed, Don’t live life in distress
Just let go, let God, He’ll work it out for you
I pray that your soul will be blessed
Forever in his rest, Cause you deserve his best no less
[Verse 2:]
Enter a place where you never have to cry
Never have to live a lie, never have to wonder why
Never want for nothing you’re always satisfied
In the peace that his arms will provide
He will erase any guilt or shame, any bad habits you’ve got
You won’t wanna do em again, Yes we all can change, I can testify
See I spoke to God, I called out your name
And on your behalf, I just asked, If he would be there for you
I want you to

[Repeat Chorus]

My prayer for you today, Is that you trust and always obey
On this day keep calling [choir]
On this day keep calling [solo]
He’ll keep you from falling [choir]
He’ll keep you from falling [solo]
He’ll supply the answers [choir]
Yes He will, if you stand in faith and trust Him to make a way out of no way [solo]

[Repeat Chorus]

Be blessed from the bottom of your feet to the crown of your head
Your life be blessed
Your family be blessed
Your finances be blessed
Everything about you

Need U Bad

23 07 2008

I had the pleasure of hearing this song named, “Need You Bad” by Jazmine Sullivan.  This song was so soulful and smooth to me.  It had a great rhythm and jazz melody tune to the production.  I am not lying it is my jam.

I took the time out and looked Jazmine Sullivan up on Youtube.  I also founded some more of her songs on a downloading website.  I listen to those songs and watched the Youtube’s videos and she seems consistent with her sing.  This girl truly can blow but I do think gospel would fit her better.  I read that she also writes her songs and actually wrote for some of the top recording artists today.  I know on Youtube there was a version of “Say I” she sung and she put so much soul and heart into it.  It was better than Christina Milian version and she did a rendition of “Encore” by Jay-Z that gave even the king of rap a run for his money.  People you heard it heard first, I think she is something special.
