…something something, blah blah. I can’t remember how the song goes but it was an alright jam. I really like the melody of it and just the tunes but the words really can go and be left out. This song is by Ray J (Brandy’s brother from the popular television series Moesha) featuring a rap artist name Yung Berg. The other day I heard this song and it was talking about giving you the business. The song had a good beat to it and had that Roger Trotman (the originator for you youngins way before T-Pain) voice box effect. I was diggin it some until they said the artist was Yung Berg. I had to pull a P. Love and say, “Hell Naw”!
Not to long ago Yung Berg made a comment about how he liked light skin chicks and called dark skin women “Dark Butts”. Here is the exact words I got from www. mahoganybutterfly.com (I first read and heard it on www.mediatakeout.com) :
“I’m kinda racist … I don’t like dark butts …. You know how some women prefer light skin men or dark skin men. It’s rare that I do dark butts – that’s what I call dark skinned women … I [don't date women] darker than me. I love the pool test. If you can jump in the pool exactly like you are and you don’t come out looking better than you looked before going in the pool – then that’s not a good look. Any woman that uses brown gel to set down her baby hair is not poppin’!!!”
Personally, I can’t buy (as if I was going to by his music anyway) any of Yung Berg’s music and will not support him in anything that he does. Now, let be honest we all got our own preferences on men and women, race, height, weight…etc. I truly don’t have a problem with that but Yung B already start his statement off wrong with me…”I’m kinda racist…I don’t like dark butts”. I just thought this was some crazy type of statement for him to be an artist that needs record sells. Well there goes your black women fan base, if you ever had one.
Hearing or reading those first couple of words let me know it was not about a preference but a statement of ignorants and self hatred. The crazy part is how he views himself and his own mother. Actually, come to find out his child mother is a dark complexion woman. Here is some of the statement made by Yung Berg’s child mother:
When I met him he was living in his dad’s basement on the Southside of Chicago now all of a sudden he moves to California, gets a little money and he doesn’t date black women anymore? Get the f*ck out of here. We are the one’s who were with you when you were broke, the ones who held you down when nobody else would, the one’s who’s shoulder you cried on when things weren’t going your way. Now you degrade us? That is not a good look
She went on to say how he gave her a STD and she is fighting for back child support but she did get his stimulus check (ha ha ha). Well, she could be a bitter baby mama (I hate that word) so who knows. My story is not about her anyway. WTF? A dark skin woman can’t look good coming out of the pool. That’s bulls**t, for real. You have just called a whole race of beautiful black women ugly. Before the slay master raped our women all of our women were dark complexion. He is a descentant of an dark complexion woman with nappy hair ( his words need gel to hold her hair down). That is what happens with most of our black models, they are tranform into the image of what white models look like. When they meet some type of pinnacle in their careers their hair is changed into long stringy hair, eye color changed and of course their weight size decrease and they try and lose those same hips that has been inherited from our ancestors. I know some of you might want to say, well the weight lost is for their health. Lets be for real it is more of image then health but that is the line of business their in.
It is hard enough living in today society as a young African American girl (darkskin or light complexion) and being bombarded with images of what women should look like. There are so many images on TV and magazines that do not represent African American women in the utmost manner for who they truly are. Looking at Como’s Magazine and seeing there white counterparts super thin and long hair. Then you go to King’s Magazine and see the African American women half naked and photograph in a way that portray them in the life style of the rich and famous life and seem helpless but seductive. These images just perpetuate stereotype of African American women and women in general.
I am guilty of some of these things too but my whole thing is this-my daughter has enough to deal with when it comes to images, self-esteem, stereotypes and them top it off have to try and be degrade by an African American male. See I have witness what society images can do to a African American girl. I know of a little girl that only wanted white dolls and thought black dolls are ugly. It all comes from what she has seen in front of her and her parents have not provided her with beautiful images of African American women. They say children by the age of 3 have develop their sense of recognization and by then they recognize brand names (ex. Mc Donalds, Nike…etc.).
See I am not here to say that white women look better than black women or verse vice. There are beautiful women in all nationalities and once again I can understand a perferences because that is a person choice. Not realizing the beauty in your own race just bothers me. It is just that same image you dislike is a reflection of yourself.
Then if his son’s mother is telling the truth, dude got some nerves and he is not even paying his child support payment. On top of that he took the time out to have a baby by a “dark butt”. He is just as bad as the white slave masters, it is okay to sleep with the “dark butts” but not be seen with them. This is not just an insult to dark complexion women but to African American women in general. I will not keep going on but I have to say this, I got the chance to see his latest video on Youtube (The Business). Guess what? He has the nerve to have the main woman in the video be dark complexion. What great PR work..LMAO! Truly a MISEDUCATION OF A NEGRO!
